While positioning different elements inside boxes I tried to use padding first but it affected the size of the box so I changed position to relative and then used margin to position different objects so what is the best practice to position different elements inside the box?

How to accurately judge the measurements from a preview image only? I was confused that in the preview image box shadow is present or not. So how to judge more accurately the minor details of design which are not mentioned in the style sheet?
