Dictionary app w/ react & framer-motion

My biggest problem right now is, no matter how hard I try, I can't avoid the dreaded theme/font choice flash when first loading the page...

I've tried moving essentially all the logic for detecting user color-scheme/font preferences into the head of the HTML page (so it loads before the root div is even touched), but it made absolutely no difference at all.

Any thoughts on how to fix this? Driving me nuts!!
