viewBox and fill in svg file

Logo in this project is a svg file. In header and footer it is presented in different color. How to do this. I did it with a trick. In header i included this file in img tag. But in footer , i included it with its complete code and in that code , i changed fill property. But i am not happy with this trick. There must be some better solution . Can any body guide me?
