There is no need to give the width a value. To center .container on the page using flexbox, replace the height in the body with min-height: 100vh.

There is no need to give .container a margin value.

For the color of the image, wrap the picture tag in a figure tag, in the css give the figure a background-color of soft violet and the img a width and height 0f 100%, object-fit: cover, mix-blend-mode: multiply and opacity: 0.8.
