Solution retrospective
For this Scoot multi-page website, I used my new template featuring Flask, Preact, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS. Having previously worked with a Next.js, TypeScript, and Tailwind setup, which was fantastic, I found this new stack to be a compelling alternative.
Flask’s simplicity and flexibility allowed me to tailor the backend precisely to the needs of a static site, while Preact’s lightweight nature ensured excellent performance. TypeScript provided the same robust type safety and error catching that I’ve come to appreciate, and Tailwind CSS continued to streamline the styling process with its utility-first approach.
Exploring this combination has been particularly interesting as it highlights the unique advantages of different tools. Flask’s minimalistic approach contrasts with Next.js’s built-in features, and Preact’s efficiency offers an alternative to React’s broader ecosystem. It’s been exciting to see how these technologies work together and to leverage their strengths in new ways.
