Solution retrospective
As mentioned in the README I had to follow along with youtube Kevin Powell's tutorial on how to handle this project. I gave it a go on my own and after 3 days of banging my head against the wall I realized it was maybe beyond my skillset :( I did however learn a lot through his tutorial so I'm posting the solution here as well as a link to his tutorial in my README if anyone would like to view it. Thank you
