Responsive Grid and Flex Design

I had challenges using grid, it looks okay, but there are some funky alignments as you decrease the size of the page. How can i get the grid-image to span 2 containers in a web browser page while the grid-statement spans 1. At the same time, how can i get the statement to span two columns when it collapses under the grid-image. It only spans one currently. Any grid suggestions are welcomed. Thanks.
