Oh, I had that 404 error when deploying my first repo too. I did the same exact thing you did.
Moving the contents out of your initial "qr-code-front-end-mentor" directory, and then deleting that directory, was what got rid of my 404 error. Maybe that will solve yours as well.
Also, whenever someone is reviewing your code, they tend to go to the README.md first. The viewer of your code will get an understanding of what you want accomplished, what you learned, the resources you utilized within your code, etc. I only see the README template uploaded. I'm not sure if that is accidental, but a customized README would be a great addition to your solution.

But I am still confused how to fix this 404 error !
