Profile Webpage (My first challenge)

During this project i was not sure as to whether i should add the vector graphic to my html doc via img tag or opening the svg and pasting it directly on to the doc. I ended up using the img tag, though this still something that gets me confused, please give me advice on which method to use when im to add vector graphics on my html doc.THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!
