I like your solution and think the end product looks great!
The only thing I would change (if I were to be nit-picky) is instead of putting the font-family on every button class ('.first, .second, .third') button I would've just declared it once on the button element itself.
In all honesty that is a small-detail and overall your code and end-product came out really good, keep up the good work!
