Interactive rating component

Hi guys, any general feedback on the UI or the JS would be great. I have just started to build up projects besides only code in the console. I wasn't quite sure how to handle the events after the "Submit" button is clicked whether pre-build them in the html with "display:none" and the dynamically change the display like I did at the end, or should have made all the elements dynamically with JS and the append them ? Any thoughts and tips would be great.
