  • in the original folder you downloaded, look for a file called style-guide.md for the styles to use including colors and fonts.
  • check on background blend mode as to the effects on background image.
  • use background image for decorative purposes and the img tag when the image has content that is kind of useful

In response to question 3, I've used sites like

https://color.adobe.com/create/color-wheel

and

https://coolors.co/

to start getting a feel for coordinating colors. You can even use a source image to generate a palette based on colors in the image.
