Nice work! Some of my suggestions are that you should update your code since the current one doesn't fully utilize the capabilities of grid and you should use a media query for this

I was able to implement what i have learned about grid and also being able to use it to organize web pages

spanning the rows, but i watch a video from travesy on grid and it helped me to over come it.
