Desktop First ,responsive, using Flexbox and BEM.

Solution retrospective
Hey community!,
This is my first Jr. challenge. I spent few hours trying to approach the layout. In this time i tried Desktop First, but i found it very hard to do. Find the right mobile breakpoints was a really hard task for me. I did it with Flexbox
, because i still don't learn Grid
.
So my feedback request is:
Do you think is normal that it takes me so long to make this challenges? (i mean 4-5 hours. Even 2 days :c ) or I just need to keep practicing to achieve greater skill?. Right now i'm very tired from this challenge and i'm gonna rest a litle bit jaja. βοΈ

Hi, Leo Garcia! π
Nice job on this challenge! π Your solution looks pretty good and is responsive! π
Don't worry too much about taking a long time to complete some of these challenges. I've spent way more time than I initially thought (or would have liked) completing a few challenges here on Frontend Mentor, but that's because we're still learning and trying out new/different approaches to doing things. With practice, both thinking about how you are going to build a site and actually building it will become easier for you and take up less time. Until then, simply be patient and try your best to learn and do! π
BTW, one or two minor things I suggest are,
- Making sure the text in the hero section of the page doesn't get hidden behind the hero image to the right of the page when the width of the screen decreases in the desktop layout.
- Adding a hover state to the interactive elements of the page (such as the buttons or navigation links) would be a nice touch! π
Hope that helps. π
Keep coding (and happy coding, too)! π

Sometimes, I feel like I'm wasting a lot of time trying to get into Javascript as quickly as possible. But I still have to learn Grid, Sass, etc. I still find it difficult to accept that this takes a long time to learn, and if the best Frontend Mentor user says so, it must be true jaja. Thank you , I'll be fixing that asap. βοΈ βοΈ

I actually felt the same way when I was learning, tooβI wanted to jump right into JS but I wasn't sure I was very happy with my confidence in HTML and CSS. I think taking the time to learn those things properly is a good investment because it'll make it easier to build sites as a whole in the future (and of course, everything becomes more familiar with practice). Recently, I've still been feeling like darting into new things here and there, but I'm trying to take it slowly, as well. π
Cheers! π
