Solution retrospective
what I found difficult was positioning the card to be aligned I the middle of the screen as display flex was not working.
the media query part of the code is what I'm unsure about my question would be on the media query, the transition from mobile to desktop is not smooth, how do I do that.

@mbaah13. You have to include your ** images folder ** to your github account. In CSS the perfect way you can center an element is set the display to flex , justify-content to center and also align-items to center. The Height is a key to this type of centering. Excluding it will not be perfectly centered. illustration:
height: 100vh; display: flex; justify-content: center; align-items: center; }
<!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <title>Document</title> </head> <body> <main> <div class="container"> <div class="container-wrapper"> <img src="images/image-qr-code.png"/> <div class="qr-info"> <h2> Improve your front-end skills by building projects </h2> <p>Scan the QR code to visit Frontend Mentor and take your coding skills to the next level</p> </div> <div class="attribution"> Challenge by <a href="https://www.frontendmentor.io?ref=challenge" target="_blank">Frontend Mentor</a>. Looks like you did not push the image to the the github repo.

Yes, Its very important to understand key concepts like positioning, media query to properly render the elements on the page.
In my projects:
- I always start with mobile-first workflow.
- I use at least one main element for a page (entire content goes into the main, if I'm not using header & footer), and avoid divs as much as possible and use section and article element wherever I can.
<body> <main> All content </main> </body>
-
I Use relative units as much as possible and avoid absolute units whenever possible.

If you are someone who is just starting out with front-end development, I strongly suggest starting with the QR code component project(which you did). Also in the challenges page you may filter by (Newbie, HTML&CSS) sort by (easier first) to select projects that will help you solidify your foundation. To avoid any knowledge gap please first solidify HTML, CSS, JS fundamentals and then move on to any framework or library.
