very nice solution! almost completely pixel perfect.
Just curious, what do you mean you can't use cool technologies?
I normally just use vanilla CSS but I've seen many people turn in React apps with SASS and other CSS pre-processors.
It's even in the challenge descriptions that you can use whatever you want to build/submit a solution.
Again, job very well done on your submission.

I meant as sort of a newbie, I am only familiar with vanilla CSS. I don't know how to use the other cool technologies or frameworks...yet.

ah, ok - sorry, I misunderstood.
the cool tools can be nice but I think you're doing the right thing nailing down basic/vanilla HTML/CSS/JS first.
once you understand those then the other frameworks/libraries are a cherry on top.
