Base Apparrel coming soon challenge - html, css, vanilla Javascript

I did this project a while back and wrote the code smoothly for the HTML and CSS code needed. However, I would like feedback on how I can improve my DOM manipulation on the javascript end. Kinda struggled to figure out at the time how to write the right function to get the input to provide a color error and display the error message. All feedback is welcomed.
