I struggled a lot with the spacing, as well as layering and floating items. How could I simplify/clean-up my CSS. in order to get the desired outcome without spending so much time guessing on sizes and what to float or flex, etc?
Also, I think my HTML is pretty clean, but I am very new to HTML/CSS. Would it be considered legible? If not, how can I make it better?

to be able to easily manipulate the space and layout, I recommend finishing the first 42 chapters of CSS basic on w3schools CSS tutorial
The formatting is messed up again when I upload it to GitHub, but the main DIV format stills seems to be fine.
Please take a look at my HTML and CSS. Currently trying to figure out how to condense and streamline my code to make it. more legible and easier to write and edit.
