  In the Desktop version there is a line at the bottom of the image I cannot get rid of. What was the correct effect to get the purple overlay on the image? I used multiply but it looks wrong.

  

  Flexbox, media-queries, mix-blend-mode.

  I had the same issue. to fix it. I added the image as the background image instead of using HTML IMG tag. as for overlay I created dummy div and gave color. full-width height and position absolute 0 from all side top left right bottom
